The ethnic communities in Upper Hutt have come together to form The Upper Hutt Multi Ethnic Councilt. Members of the ethnic communities, the Mayor of Upper Hutt, the UH Community Development Group and the New Zealand Federation of Ethnic Councils have worked over the last 8 to 9 months to set up this Ethnic Council.
